remembering with photos

I picked up my first 35mm SLR camera in 1963 and have not looked back since.
I have shot thousands of photos and developed a mess of them myself. If I close
my eyes I can still smell the hypo or developer in that old darkroom, never bothered
to use tongs for the prints (yeah, I know, bad move) and in ways I miss it except
for having to cleanup the mess afterward .

Around the year 2000 I switched to digital and bought my first DSLR in 2005 and just
like the first SLR I purchased in 1963 haven't looked back since.

I bought a new darkroom several years ago except it isn't dark. It's called Photoshop.
Instead of getting my hands wet with chemicals they now use a mouse and Wacom 4
pen tablet. Peggy is happier too. I don't smell like hypo when I finish an
editing session.

My passion for photography hasn't slowed down a bit. My desire to do the absolute
best for you in photographing your special occasion, or pet or whatever the big
guys won't do has stayed the same. My wife Peggy caught the bug about 25 years
ago, has the same passions and we partner in these shoots in order not to miss anything.

That passion extends to taking those digital captures you made, stuck on a CD to
get around to some day by retouching them and remain hidden on a shelf somewhere.
You know something? You aren't getting any younger. Time has a tendency to march on
with or without you and those precious memories begin to fade a little. Especially
the ones of the kids growing up.

Yeah, I know, as soon as you learn that new editing program you'll get to them.
You know the one I'm talking about, the one that says how easy it is to fix your
own pictures but you found out it's not so simple, and so they sit.

I'll retouch them for you for a fair price and if you like I'll even make a slide show
for you and won't break the bank doing it.

One of the greatest pleasures I get is taking your wedding files that friends and
family shot because your wedding photographer didn't show up, or messed up your photos,
or you couldn't afford one. I will professionally retouch then for you.

I want to take a moment to talk you about photo restoration. As I mentioned earlier
about time marching on. Those old pictures from years gone by are fading with time,
they have become creased and torn, brown with age, faded to a point that you can hardly
see them, others have colors that shifted and turned into an orange or blue mess.
You would be surprised at what I can do to restore a damaged photo. Some from floods,
or fire and smoke damage, or your 2 year old who got to your collection. I can help.

Should your old slides need fixing I can help there also. Got the negatives but
lost the pictures? Let me at them.

I charge by the job and if it takes me longer to do it, well, so be it. I will
scan, and restore them to almost like new.

By the way, we will work within your budget. Not too many services offer that.
